Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was originally representing an insurance company as a Broker "Non-Captive" Agent; Life was good! I was then sought after by the insurance company and was told they has "strategic relationships" with companies and had tons of leads and wanted to hire me. I agreed based upon that fact. After 12 weeks, I've since found out that this is not to be true. I feel like I was hired under false pretenses and am wondering if they can now hold my license captive and demand their 12 week advancement back.

Looking for help!

They 'can' do anything they like, just like you 'can' violate the law and speed on the freeway. Your rights are defined in your agreement with them, subject to whatever protections the Insurance Code gives you. With your claims of misrepresentation, you should be able to quit and recover your license, and walk away without owing any repayment, but they 'can' refuse and force you to take legal action. If you need legal help in this, feel free to contact me.
