Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Vehicle tow?

I have lived in my apartment for a year. I picked this apartment mainly because I was allowed to park my rv in the parking lot and was issued a parking sticker for this past year, Now the managment. decided they dont want rv's parked on the grounds. they refuse to give me a new sticker even though there is still plenty of spaces available. Can they make me move it or do I have rights?

Re: Vehicle tow?

As long as the lease still exists under which you rented the apartment with the right to park your RV, then management can not change the terms of the agreement. But once the lease expires, then you are both starting afresh and can offer or agree to whatever terms you want. You likely had a lease for a one year term and are now on a month to month term. Before the term ends, management would have to give you notice of the new terms, but after the terms expires you are not entitled to have the same terms imposed.

Talk to management and see why they do not want you to park the RV; if it is because it is unsightly, see if you can park where most people do not look.
