Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Pedicure gone wrong

I recently had a pedicure at my usual nail shop. During the pedicure, the person doing the pedicure did go to deep under my left foot toe nail. The cut caused the toe to become infected. My doctor had to remove the entire nail since the infection was too strong. I missed 3 full days of work and incurred medical expenses. I have tried repeated to contact the salon owner, in order to advise her of the situation and get insurance information. Unfortunately, my calls are not returned. What do I do to try to get reimburse my time off work and medical expenses?

You really need to get an attorney. Even if the nail salon has insurance, it is still a hard fight getting money out of an insurance company. You also need to act quickly because if you wait too long, then the statute of limitations may bar your claim . Give me a call. 1-800-999-HURT.

You can keep trying unsuccessfully yourself, or you can hire an attorney to pursue a PI claim that the business can't ignore. Contact me if interested.

Do not knock yourself out trying to gather insurance information from the nail shop. You simply need to file a lawsuit and let the shop owner worry about whether or not they want to turn the lawsuit over to their insurance company.

There are many other complex issues involved in such a case that usually only attorneys are equipped to handle. With this said, it is in your best interest to hire an attorney at your very earliest convenience.

If the salon is ignoring you, chances are it will continue to ignore you. An attorney may be able to get their attention.

The person doing the pedicure probably wasn't an employee of the salon, but an independent contractor who can leave on thirty-days notice to the salon. Consequently, time is of the essence. If the person doing the pedicure wasn't insured, it is vital you find this out as soon as possible. You must also make your claim within the applicable statute of limitations.

Make an appointment with an attorney and discuss your options. If you would like, contact our office for a free consultation.
