Re: medical and title

What do you and your mother want to do? Do not let hm push you into doing what he wants if both of you do not really want to. I do not know about Medicare, but putting it into tenants in common means there will be a probate [if assets worth greater than $100,000] when your mother dies and one when you or your brother dies. Normally you want to avoid probate. So you must think of the tax consequences, the fact that with your brother on title he will now have a say as to what occurs as to the house, etc.

Meicare will look to all his assets, including the house if he is on title.
