Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Employer intimidates me by unexpectely showing up at my doorstep insisting on my

I recieved a call from a potential employer, at which time we briefly discussed my application and specifications I required. This man then proceded to set up a interview with our meeting the following day. 10 minutes later this manager was at my door holding my paper asking to come in.

Astonished my teenaged kids and I were at a loss for words.

This man then proceded to compliment me in a very uncomfortable flirting fashion. Stateing he was on his way home and thuoght he'd just come by ,interveiw and hire me. Wow,Very intimidated by this''Single availible man. As he stated many times. Eventually conclueding ''his 30 min interview''Which he told me how goodlooking I was and how he would ''LOVE''working with me.Yes,I informed him''I'm very happily married'' . He commented ''That's too bad '' in a very suggestive manner . Upon his final departure. He stated '' Oh yeah, You'll have to fill out another application . Because I was'nt able to locate yours. Then informing me I was hired, to show up on the following monday (It was friday) . That weekend this man called again only to say, how cute I was. That he was availible gave me his number for us to get together privately. All this lead up to my signing a contract for a job I did'nt want.

You are asking for trouble if you work for this employer. I don't need to tell you how unprofessional this manager was and it is only going to get worse. When it becomes clear to him you are not going to give in to him, he will turn against you and make your job and life miserable. You don't need this. I don't know what kind of contract you signed but you should have it looked at by an experienced employment law attorney.

Depending upon what kind of company this is, I think the manager's conduct should be reported to someone in authority at the company, in writing, to put them on notice they have a lawsuit waiting to happen in their employ. You could either do this yourself or with the assistance of counsel. But whatever you do, stay clear of him and look for a better job.

Are you sure the company really exists, or is it some single, lonely and awful man looking for an easy way to make dates? As my colleague warns, stay away from the company if it's legit -- especially this man. I'd be happy to review the contract for you.
