Pedestrians in crosswalks
In california - is it illegal to move through a crosswalk - say turn a right on red - when pedestrians are in the crosswalk but in no way are you not yielding right of way because they are iin a different section of the road - say they are walking on the far side away from you, or walking toward you but still not in your lanes.

The law says you must stay clear of the entire crosswalk if a pedestrian occupies any portion of the crosswalk.
