Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Got a ticket for parking in an invisible Bus zone.

Sunday 7/6/03 at 2am I got a ticket outside of my apartment complex. The ticket issued stated that I was parked in a Bus Zone. I was parked a bus length away from the Bus stop pole and there was an additional 3 to 4 feet from the poll to the end of the parking lot driveway. I took pictures before moving my car. I took picutres to show that 1 no where is there a sign that says 'no parking' 2. the curb is not painted red 3. I am a substantialy distance from the bus stop poll plus the 3 to 4 feet from the poll to the curb. 4. no one behind me recieved a ticket.

I was looking for some law with a distance amount that you have to be from the bus poll and cant find one. Even then there is no limit line to say that I am in a zone and the people in back of me are not. I contested the citation...Do you think I have cause?

You can get a copy of the Nolo Press book Fight Your Traffic Ticket. This book provides a very comprehensive statement of the law, and the defenses to a particular citation. This book will provide the information you need to analyze your case, and make a decision.
