Legal Question in DUI Law in Colorado

probation terms

Hi,

I received a dui in the end of jan. 07, in court I took the plea for 18 months probation, and dwai in march. I have been on probation ever since have followed all rules, attended classes, done community service, and all requirements. I lost my job dealing with all this and need a new one. I am unable to have a acceptable job availability, because I have to blow at random, for the whole 18 months, can they have me monitored that long? I have never missed one, and have always passed its been almost 5 months now, and costs lots(and prevents me from a job).

Re: probation terms

If you haven't had any problems with sobriety at this point ask the probation officer if you can discontinue or at least decrease the frequency of randoms. Alternately you could apply to the court in writing to discontinue randoms - normally you need probation on board to get approval. If anti-alcohol drugs are medically okay in your situation they may allow you to switch if you cannot persuade them to stop the random breaths otherwise.
