Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut
my family and a few friends were involved in an investment involving 4 freinds.at first everyone was on the same page.then one of the investors changed her mind after she agreed to a investment of cash with a return of 10% in 24 months. it was a verbal agreement witnessed by at least 5 people that also knew the terms.a promissory note was prepared by an attorney..the lady's husband found out about her investment and got angry.the woman and her husband are police officers and seasoned landlords. the lady called and said even though she agreed to the deal.then followed up by wiring two separate bank wire transfers, she now wanted her money back.all parties said no. because work has already begun months ago.she promissed to have her cop friends bring trouble and warrants for larceny, through the force she worked for even though the transaction took place in a different state.she dosent live or bank in the city that her detective friends are threatning us from...two years ago 6 detectives from the same force were arrested by the feds for the same kind of shakedown and much more..WHAT SHOULD WE DO!

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Whenever you are threatened with criminal prosecution, etc., the first thing to do is call a criminal law attorney. There is no way you can expect to obtain any other meaningful advice for a bulletin board like this, which is designed to answer simple, legal questions. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
