Legal Question in Business Law in Connecticut
nonsolicitation
I have a nonsolicitation agreement with a previous employer. It states that I cannot solicit or induce a co-worker to leave. A co-worker came to me and asked me if he could work for me at the new company. Can I hire him?

Re: nonsolicitation
In general the answer is yes you can hire him unless you specifically promised in your agreement with your former employer that you would not hire any of their employees. Such a provision is not typically included in a non-solicitation agreement. My answer assumes you made no effort to contact the former co-worker which could be considered an inducement to him. If you need further info you can email me.
