Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut
F1 Sponsorship
What are the rights of an F1 Sponsor? We sponsored someone, paid all their expenses, provided housing and as soon as their visa arrived, they left us! Do we have any recourse? Can they easily change their sponsorship? Are we still responsible?

Re: F1 Sponsorship
Dear Inquirer:
If you signed off on an I-134, you are potentially liable if the F-1 visa holder relies on any public means-tested benefits in the US. Since this person has apparently fallen out of status, however, he most likely will reported by the school to SEVIS and arrangements for his departure will be made by USICE.
I recommend that you email [email protected] or www.hanlonlawgroup.com if you would like more information.
