Hague convention-guyana divorce notification

I am an American citizen born and

raised in nyc. I now live in

Connecticut. In 2002 I went on a trip

to Guyana, South America. I met

and married a girl while i was there.

In 2008 she was denied entry to the

usa. After that we lost touch and i

cannot find her anywhere. I want a

divorce but i must prove that the

hague convention allows a person in

guyana to be notified of a divorce via

local guyanese newspaper. The city

of stamford ct will not accept my

application for divorce until i can

prove to them that the hague

convention allows this method of

notification. I am really desperate to

get this going and have researched

the hague convention on my own

but its hard to understand. Please

help!!
