Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut

breach the employment agreement

I am from Hartford county, and work as a hairstylist.

When i started working there i had to sign an agreement of not competing with the salon.

I wouldn't be able to work in specified''radius''miles from the salon for a specific amount of time. Should i breach the agreement i would have to pay penalty.

My question is what could be the penalty?

The penalty may depend on the terms of the contract. As a general rule, assuming the contract and non-competition clause are valid, they could sue you for any damages they suffer because of you leaving.

However, I would have to look at the contract and speak with you.
