Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Harassing phone calls

My husband's ex-wife's creditors have been calling us looking for her. They've been divorced for 10 yrs and they don't have any debt or anything together. She even changed her last name because she remarried 7 yrs ago. The phone is in my name now, so how did these creditors find out our number and why are they calling us? We live in FL and his ex lives in OH with her new family. We already told the creditors we have nothing to do with her and to please stop calling. They still keep on calling us. What can we do to stop this?

Re: Harassing phone calls

Send a cerftified letter under the Fair Debt Collection Practicess Act saying you dispute the debt and to cease communications with you. If they don't you have a legal cause of action against them. Feel free to call my office if you need legal representation.
