Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
I have a medical bill from March. I started sending them at least $25 (up to $50) per month right away because I knew insurance wouldn't cover it all. Three months ago, they said they wanted at least $125 a month, which I do not have. I never signed anything agreeing to any minimums. I continue to send at least $25 a month and now they have turned me over to a collection agency. The agency says I have to pay it off within 3 months. I cannot send what I do not have and will continue to send at least $25 a month. Is there anything they can do to me, such as attach pay checks or try to put a lien on my house? Total owned as of today is $750. Thank you very much! Gina

Morean likely than not, they will not sue you for that amount of money, unless you stop paying. No one can attach your checking account or any other property without first obtaining a judgment aganist you. see www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com re garnishment.
