Legal Question in DUI Law in Florida

Vop

I need to find a lawyer who has a low retainer and/or takes payments to reverse my VOP without me having to go to jail. The area is Jacksonville Florida in Duval County.

Re: Vop

I would recommend contacting the Duval County Bar Association for a lawyer reference. If you can't afford a private attorney, petition for the Public Defender as a VOP can often carry a jail sentence.

Re: Vop

Hello: I just read your question...didn't read the one response. I'm out of my office for the rest of the week, but I am checking e-mails. My office handles these types of cases in all counties in North Fla.

I do offer reasonable fees and partial payments. Just to give you a quick overview...the Court mainly wants anyone with a VOP to complete what was originally ordered. Often when my client has a VOP, there is a capias (warrant) entered. We try to call the judge's office and ask him/her to withdraw the capias and put the case on the calendar (to keep my client from having to get arrested). Sometimes they will do that sometimes they say...the case will be put on the calendar a week or so away...but the capias is not withdrawn until we get to court. Again, I always tell my client to try to complete as much as you can prior to court. If he/she can't get it all done, we just ask the court to pass the case for a pre-trial(status update) at a later date and we come back. Of course, the nature of the violation can affect this advice/overview.

'Hope this helps. If my office can be of any assistance, please give us a call. Good luck. Tom Rosenblum
