Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Attendance required after settlement signed?

My parents are getting a divorce. My mother moved from VA to FL & filed there. My father just settled with her, signed the papers and sent them back without contacted a lawyer of his own. Does he need to go to FL when the papers are finalized and signed by the judge?

Re: Attendance required after settlement signed?

To prevent any later claim of undue influence, unconscionable or mistake a separate attorney should have reviewed the documents for your father.

He does not have to appear. It is up to him.
