Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My grandchildren who are 7 and 4 have lived with me in my home with their mother for over 5 years. My daughter passed away 3 months ago and the childrens father who has not been in their lives, now has them and refused to allow any visitation for us or any of their mothers family. Do we, living in the state of Florida have any rights for visitation. Father does have drug history and driving on suspended license

Unless you can prove that the father is "unfit" grandparents have to custodial rights in Florida (unless by agreement) and there is no right to visitation. Sorry.
