Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My husband of 19 years filed for divorce in Illinois. I live in Florida and have one minor child. We have been separated for 1 1/2 yrs. I receive no child support, am unemployed and cannot afford an attorney. Do I file an appearance-If I do then Illinois will have jurisdiction over me. If I don't file and answer the summons in Ilinois,I do not know how to get child support,401k and perhaps maintenance. Any advise?

You cannot afford not to have an attorney. Yes, you must file papers in Ill. You should also file in Florida.
