Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I was made to believe that i would still see my children after signing adoption papers to settle a law suit against me by ex wife and her new husband. They threatened to have me deported, imprisoned and legal actions sucked all my money so signed the papers as they promised visitation rights 5 weeks a year and every 2 week ends. They lied and i never saw my kids again. Can i have legal rights to do anything??? I did sign around a mediation table, i had no legal counsel with me though. I am at a loss. Please help.

In other words, they said, "Agree to termination of your parental rights and our stepparent adoption, or we'll go after you for back support, have you held in contempt and jailed if you can't pay, and we'll report you to ICE." Pretty common, yet unethical, tactic.

First, you should have had a lawyer.

Second, when you signed the papers, did they contain an written agreement for you to have visitation? If not, you're screwed legally. It doesn't mean you can't see the kids. You can go see them whenever you want. But if the mother and adoptive father prohibit it, you can't see the kids until they turn 18.

Mr. Rose is absolutely correct. However, if you had a court reporter in the room and it was stated that you would have these rights, get the transcript, and HIRE an attorney to see if you can get the adoption arrangements changed.
