Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

my sisters bad choices
My sister married a violent contol-freak... she is 5', 100lbs, with a rare kidney disease, he is a 200+lb 6' man, the last big confrintation was a car-seat thrown through the windsheid after he physically assulted her. He would not let her take their son, who has the same disease and requires daily medicine. Skip forward 5 years, the child now 9 is failing in school, has hygene issuses, lives with the Dad and is only allowed to be with my sister weekends and Wednesdays, she is desperate to file divorce and get sole custody of her child, the father has threatened her for any action she takes, he is now living with another woman has 2 other children (girls, they all share a room) and is living on welfare. The child goes without his medicine at the fathers for days. My sister has a stable job, sanitary living enviro, constant supply of medicine and is desperate to have her child full time without a fear of the father. Please advise..
