Your question raises several issues. If your employer is large enough, over 50 employees, then they must offer you at least the unpaid leave required under the Family Medical Leave Act. In addition, and assuming your employer has 15 or more employees, they must treat pregnant employees the same way they would treat anyone with a short term disability. To do otherwise would be discrimination based on gender and a violation of the Civil Rights Act.
