Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Can he take me to court and win?
I agreed to take care of a dog for a friend while he was in jail and return the dog when he was released (2 years later). Upon receiving the dog it was clear the dog was not cared for appropriately. I have since grown attached, and do not wish to return the dog when my 'friend' is released. Will a verbal agreement between myself and the convict hold up if this comes to a legal battle? What can I do to legally keep the dog? I can prove that the dog is better taken care of in my custody, if that makes any kind of difference. Please get back to me asap.

Buy the dog from your friend.
