Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Repo family furniture?

My mother has lived with my husband and myself for 3 years we have asked her to move, in doing so she is demanding family furniture. I have many pieces of furniture and misc objects that I have had pocession of for more than 8 years. She is now attempting to take me to court to reclaim these items. Can she take items that were given to me after my fathers death because she is mad at me?

Re: Repo family furniture?

The outcome will depend on the specific facts/circumstances of your case. Your mother may sue, but it will ultimately depend on how the judge assesses the arguments of both sides as to who has the ownership of the furniture. The fact that you have been in possession of the furniture for 8 years, especially if you prove this, may weigh heavily in your favor.
