subpoena for deposition

I recieved a subpoena for deposition in a civil injury lawsuit against a former employer.What is my personal exposure?can I refuse to comply? am I protected under constitutional protection in a civil matter?

If you received a properly issued subpoena then you need to show up as indicated, unless otherwise excused, and answer all questions that are not otherwise privledged. The constitution does protect you, so you can still, for example, take the 5th Amendment -- but you can't just do that to avoid answering otherwise proper questions that do not tend to and would not incriminate you. If you have a crimminal concern, you should see a lawyer immediately.

You cannot refuse to comply with a subpoena absent a good reason and a motion for protective order granted by the Court.
