Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
employment harrassment
my daughter [26] was questioned for 4 hours yesterday by the head of security for a major deparment store where she is employed. he asked her several questions about stealing over the course of the 4 hours and tried to get her to sign a document wherein she admitted to stealing. he appears to have no proof, just vague comments about 'watching' her take stock from the stock room, on sunday at 3pm and asked her to recall what item that was. he asked her how much money she had taken from the cash register. she had a damaged item in her bag that she was returning to the stock room. she told me she is not allowed to carry stock through the store in her hand so she stuck it in the bag. apparently he claims she was stealing the item.
is a 4 hour session like the one described usual practice for security with regard to their own employees?

Re: employment harrassment
It does happen. She was free to leave I am sure, although she may not have recognized that fact.
