Final Pay Direct Deposit Not Received
I quit my job on 1-11-08 due to a hostile work environment. I outlined all of that in my letter of resignation. Now today, 1-18-08 I have not received my final pay. I am located in Florida. How long do former employers have to give you your final pay? Do they have any legal right to withhold pay? When speaking with the President of the company, he was very interested in what I had to say about the working conditions and did not seem like he was giving any lip service. I know that quitting without notice does not mean that I forfeit pay for work that I performed. Thank you.

Florida does not have an express statute that governs the timing of a final paycheck, but the next regularly scheduled pay date after your separation is the date by which you most commonly would be paid. If this date has come and gone, you should submit a written request to the Company for payment. If you still have not received the wages you actually earned, you should contact a lawyer directly for assistance.
