A customer in a restaurant sets his laptop on the chair opposite him at the table. The server spills a drink at the table and the laptop gets wet. Who is responsible for the damages? The employee, employer, or the customer?

No clear answer. Its all an issue of negligence. If you provide wireless service, you may have invited the laptop use and be considered negligent. If not, it may be apportioned. You as the employer though are likely responsible for the foreseeable actions of your employees such as spilling a beverage.
