Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Slander in the workplace?

I am a cook for a local resaurant chain. (There are two of these restaurants in my city) For two years I worked for one of them and due to a difference in personality with one of the managers I asked to be transferred to the other store. The manager that I had a problem with didn't want to transfer me but the general manager overruled him. I have been working at the new store for about 4 months now; hoping to become a manager myself. Today I found out from my new manager that the manager at the previous store I worked at is accusing me of things I have never done. Of course this will ruin any chances of promotion I might have. What can I do? He has completely ruined my reputation. Is this slander?
