My boss threatened to kick my butt in front of 3 other employees. Can i take legal action? I had just clocked out and after he threatened, i left.

Re: Threats
It appears that if this was the first time this happened that you may have more of a criminal issue than an Employment law matter. If this was the first time, you should immediately contact someone over the "boss" if there is someone. I would suggest an office manager, human resource manager, corporate or district office.
There are two things that you need to know. There are no laws that really protect employees from the threat you received. However, your employer does have a duty to protect if they have knowledge of a potential harm or dangerous person.
If you were injured by this person, your injuries would be covered by workers' compensation since they happened at work.
You would have to provide additional information for an attorney to decide if you fall under the protections of other laws.
Feel free to contact me for more information.

You have at most a civil assault claim. It is unlikely worth much before a jury but you probably do have a claim. If you would like a consult, please call my office.
