Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Miami, FL: Breaking a lease with a serious Roach problem. GROSS!!!
Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I moved into a lovely apartment that we now have come to realize is INFESTED with roaches. We are extremely clean & tidy yet every corner we turn & every door we open, shows us a friendly surprise of unwanted guests.
What are my options, in the state of FL to break this lease? According to other tenants, its a building problem and NOT a unit issue. They do have a weekly pestiside company that comes by regularly, but if its a building problem, comming to our unit won't really fix the problem. Mind you, upon moving in, we inspected the place and during the 15min tour, we saw nothing of that nature.
We have already been in the place two months and have 10 more to go. What are our options to get out of this creepy-crawly-apartment complex!!!???

FS 83 indicates the procedure to follow in order to terminate. You will need proof of the problem. Call the Board of Health.
