Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Leaks in walls of Condo

Two months ago I purchased a condo in Plantation Florida. Three weeks after I moved in the it rained heavily and I noticed that water was leaking into the ceiling of my living room and bed room, so much so that water was dripping onto the floor. I notified the Condo association and The building management company. THe Management company general manager came and looked at the leak and had the building maintenance man come and look at it.

Since then I have called two more times, the GM has come a second time to look at the leak. He tells me that the Mngmnt Co is responsible. However since that time (about a month ago}I have not been contacted not has anyone addressed this problem. Last night it rained heavily from Hurrican Dennis and once again the rain is leaking through my ceiling and down the wall. The wall is an outside wall.

Please advise me how I should proceed.

Thanks

Re: Leaks in walls of Condo

Document what has occurred in writing and send them a letter certified mail. Take photos. If your seller knew of the leak and did not disclose it you, may have a claim against them. Was the roof inspected before you bought? Good luck.
