Legal Question in Social Security Law in Florida
Using a Minor's Social Security
Is this legal? Can someone use their children's Social Security number to help them get utilities and such for their home if the parent's credit is bad? I've seen where the utilities were put in the child's name as well. If a child had that happened and the parents trashed their credit, can the child, upon turning 18yrs get it fixed?

No, it is not legal, and, yes, the child can go through a fairly laborious process and get his or her credit fixed. I would recommend myfico.com.
