Legal Question in Banking Law in Georgia
Check Signing Fraud
My roommate opened my mail with my monthly payroll bonus check inside, he sighed my name to the signature line and cashed my check. I found out by calling HR in office to find out why I had not recieved my check. I confronted my roommate and he said I owed him money, which is not true... What should I do now?

Re: Check Signing Fraud
In addiiton to contacting the police, which is the first thing you should do, you should also inform your employer what occurred. It will also give the employer the heads up that the police may be contacting HR in the future.
