Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Cancellation of Alarm System Contract

I recently sent in my 90 day cancellaiton notice to my alarm company as well as copying the BBB of the HQ for the company. They sent me a letter stating my contract would cancel on the 3 year anniversary date. However, they also said it would take 30 days to finalize and to disregard and statements or past due notices. Why another 30 days? Is there anything I can do to avoid this? Is there anything legally I can do if they do continue to bill me? I am trying to proactively avoid them messing up my good credit history. They are based in Texas and I live in Georgia.

Re: Cancellation of Alarm System Contract

We do not have your contract, and certainly no one can take a wild guess about what may happen. What you can do is simple -- follow the contract.
