Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

collection notice

Because i was not paid in cash for work done under verbal agreement with a non-profit, i was not able to pay the prep school being attended by my daughter for the balance that year after her scholarship funds were used. now that school has sent my two-tear-old debt to collection. i own nothing; no car, house, etc. i work jobs as i find them and have no savings neither assets, having lost them as a widow with four children at the time of widowhood. how do i handle this debt, now that it has gone to collection?

Re: collection notice

You might be able to wipe the debt out and end collection efforts with a bankruptcy, if you're eligible.

I'd need more details to determine if that, or other options, are appropriate. You can start by completing a free worksheet at www.glenashman.com, and bringing it to a lawyer (we handle such matters) for review.
