Childs Name in umarried couple

I am not married and am pregant. I want the child to have my last name . The father is insisting on his last name. What are my legal rights? Thanks

You can put your name on the birth certificate. However, there is a procedure for legitimation, which a putative father can pursue if he wishes to retain counsel.
