Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Eviction Judgement

We hired a co. to represent us at an eviction hearing, tenant owes $3000. We told them we only would accept full pymt to drop eviction or proceed with it. He instead went to mediation with tenant and agreed to let her stay till May 31, and no money judgement. What if any recourse do we have at this point. They called from court yesterday and said she had $242, we said do not accept it, move forward with the eviction, get a writ of possession. What do we do now? We are a property management company.

If you are not satisfied with the people you retain to represent you, find someone else. Otherwise, you are generally stuck with your agent's actions.

As an attorney and a former landlord-tenant court mediator (Fulton), I can tell you that mediation usually is not optional in landlord-tenant court. You probably are bound by the agreement that your agent made. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the event that you require assistance for future evictions.
