Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

I borrowed an uninsured car to someone who had a minor accident in it. A settlement had to be paid to A company called CRS. She has been making payments for over a year, on time and every month. and they started sending me letters for payment. I filed bankruptcy and included that in my debts. Is she still responsible to pay this debt.

It depends on who is responsible for the debt, i.e. who is liable for the debt. Before you included the debt in your bankruptcy settlement, you should have made sure that the debt was yours. Right now, you should contact CRS and request they verify whose name they have on record as the debtor. Then if it is you, unless CRS objects, the debt will be released as part of your bankruptcy. If it is her then it will not.
