Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
I recently put insurance on my car not having the insurance long (maybe a week) i hit my house which I rent. I called in the claim and spoke with someone who passed me on to another person who asked a lot more descriptive questions recorded our conversations and told me that she would get back with me to settle in return I get someother person who calls and says they are handling my claim know and I her everything again plus she ask for phone records and speak to my landlord about damages. She does that and then I am passed on to yet another person who know wants to talk to people on my job to my neigbors from my phone records he wants to know who other people are on there. want to know about another vehicle that i have. i want to know exactly how much does he really need to know to settle my claim. and how long can they press this out?

Sounds like you are calling in two different claims: one for your car, and one for the damages to the townhome. Usually different claim areas handle different kinds of claims. So the first call may have been an intake call, and then each area (auto vs. liability) may be talking to you about the different kinds of damages. Ask your agent if this is what may be going on, and if you get the run around, it may be time to contact an attorney. Any agent will tell you to talk to YOUR insurance company agents even if the calls are recorded; they are there to protect you. But if you are talking to the landlord's insurance company, no no no.
