Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Illinois

Educational Song Copyright Issue

I wrote an educational song on the subject of nouns. The lyrics are all

original. The music closely resembles ''Rock Around the Clock''. I hope

to put the song on my CD (for sale) and perform it at school assemblies.

How can I get permission? Would this be considered a parody?

Re: Educational Song Copyright Issue

Probably not a parody. You can usually get licensing from the Harry Fox agency, which you can find at www.harryfox.com. You will have to pay for licensing for each copy of the CD.
