Re: What are the law for horseback riding

This will be the subject of a city ordinance. Call the city clerk of the city whose horse rules you want to know and ask the clerk. Remember the clerk is your servant and is not a policeman, so they should be helpful. If the clerk does not know ask him or her to check with the police so your questions can be asked anonymously.

Of course, another option--and the one I would employ--is to just call the police department of the city and ask them. That way, you know what the people who do the enforcing intend to enforce, if anything.

Generally, you are free to ride a horse in a city, but are responsible for cleaning up any messes. An exception is a parade, where the parade owners have the clean up responsibility unless the city agrees to clean up.

If you are talking about riding in a parade, check with the parade coordinators.
