Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I'm going to court. I filed a petition for maintence since my ex has been working during the 4 years of maintence order. The judge hasn't heard the case yet for trial ect yet. But my ex husband the petitioner just filed to replace the judge on the petition.he has great attorneys I have no attorney I'm representing myself.. What do I say in court to keep this judge. There must be a reason they don't want this judge my ex husbands attorneys. What can I say to keep this judge ?

If your ex has never changed judges previously and this judge has not made any substantial rulings then he is entitled to change judges as of right, whether you want to or not. If he has previously changed judges at any time or this judge has ruled on a substantial issue, then the only way he can seek a change is for cause - a very high burden rarely granted -
