i have custody of my 11 year old son and his mother hasent been in his life much in the last 5 years and i want to move to florida what do i need to do to do it the legal way

If you are divorced in Illinois, you are required to obtain court approval or your ex-wife's written approval before you move to Florida

You need to file a Peititon for Removal in Illinois, and get a court order granting you permission to leave the state (with the child). Let me know if you have any more questions.
