Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

In the State of Illinois can a man represent his wife in a Court of Law?

My wife has been married before and when she got divorced from her first husband she was not given custody.

She wants to take her Ex-husband back to court and try to get custody of her son. Can I legaly represent her in court and help her get custody of my stepson?

I will appreciate your help answering this question. Thank you.
