Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I filed a discrimination lawsuit against my employer with EEOC last Fall and somehow my case got closed without my awareness because I moved to live in another state and so I did not receive some of the mails that were sent to me. Anyhow, can I have my case reopened with EEOC again? Is there a statue of limitations to reopened this case with EEOC? If I want to file a lawsuit in the federal court regarding this discrimination suit, do I need to get EEOC's permission? Since EEOC already closed my case and I must have missed the deadline to file in the federal court, can I still file in the federal court in this situation? Thank you.

Since you had a pending case with the EEOC, you are required to keep them notified of any changes in contact information. If you did not do this, you might be out of luck. When did EEOC issue the right to sue letter?
