Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
Forced job change
My employer wants to change my job from one function to another without change in hours or pay. I do not have a job contract. Must I accept this change in job responsibilities (from customer service to a clerical position) or can I refuse?

Re: Forced job change
You are not required to accept the change in job responsibilities. You may refuse the change, but your employer could discharge you for refusing to take on the new duties.
