Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I am leaving a job. If it is written in the policy, am I legally required to pay back a portion of tuition reimbursement, or is this equivalent to indentured servitude? I can provide further details upon request.

I am not sure how this could be considered "indentured servitude." Generally, an employer will pay all or a portion of your tuition provided you agree to remain an employee for a certain period of time. So essentially, you are being asked to pay for your own tuition if you do not choose to remain in their employ. You are not being required to work for free.
