Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I had a review about two pay checks ago and was told that the paper work for my pay raise would be put in and still has not been put through. Would my employer be required to pay me the back pay for the difference in the raise up until it shows up on a check?

Yes. Illinois law requires that an employer advise you of your rate of pay in advance of your performance of work. If the raise is in writing, you have strong wirtten evidence that you are entitled to the money, retroactively.
