Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois
I work for a company that contracts with Chicago Public Schools to provide services to Catholic and other private schools. I'm am in my 4th year of employment. I have been paid by one payroll company but am being switched to another this year.
My employer has indicated that I must reapply for my job under their payroll system. They will not issue me a contract to sign until I do reapply. Is this legal under Illinois law, even though they aren't headquartered in Illinois?

Has there been a separation of employment? In other words, if they are asking you to reapply, have they terminated you? You would be best served by contacting and engaging a qualified employment attorney to go over your specific situation and anger your questions.
